Route 53 Extension:
One of the candidates in this race loves to say that this is a state not a Congressional issue. That’s exactly the kind of thinking that has kept this necessary infrastructure project on the drawing boards for over forty years. Extension of Route 53 is a quality of life issue for residents of Lake and McHenry counties who must deal with unnecessary traffic congestion and long commute times because of the failure of politicians to get this project done. When I get to Washington, I’ll make it a priority and provide the leadership necessary to get state, local and federal officials on the same page and finally make this project a reality.
